Hi there! Coach Anthony here. I've seen it firsthand countless times when I spent years as a personal trainer.

Strength training is an important component whether you're training for an endurance event or not. From increasing your metabolism, to protecting you from injury, and even enhancing your quality of life, strength training becomes even more important as we age.

Strength or resistance training is a year-round activity to incorporate into your training. You can be strategic about how it weaves into your overall training structure, to reap the benefits and reach your goals.

Maintaining strength becomes even more crucial as we age (with muscle mass decreasing up to 50% between the ages of 30 and 80), to maintain mobility and independence into later life.

Having a plan that is structured around periodized strength that aligns with your off-season, racing, or just general strength building goals is one step in the right direction.

That's why I'm offering my signature 3 month strength program with strength, stability, and mobility exercises, to endurance athletes and those looking to maintain strength as they age.

I've recorded videos of these exercises so you can complete them on your own time and wherever you are. This program focuses on building total body strength and resilience that is beneficial for endurance events or general strength-building goals.

OUR STRENGTH TRAINING PROGRAM

Endure Strength Program - For Endurance Athletes

  • Foundational Strength phase

  • Strength Endurance phase

  • 2-3 strength workouts per week with mobility and stretching and cool-down strategies

  • Video-demonstrated workouts

  • 3 months of strength training for less than the cost of 1 hour with a personal trainer!

WHAT IT INCLUDES

1 - FOUNDATIONAL STRENGTH PHASE

This phase is focused around developing a consistent strength routine with a stability and injury prevention focus.The goal of this phase is about developing the muscular resilience to handle strength training consistently (get past the initial "always sore" phase) and preparing the body for heavier weights in the later phases.

2 - STRENGTH ENDURANCE PHASE

The focus of this phase is about lighter weights and higher reps to train your strength endurance. For those who have more experience strength training, I will also include a testing phase in between the foundational strength and strength endurance phases to add even more structure to the periodization.

3 - MUSCULAR ENDURANCE PHASE

This phase is focused around the introduction of heavier weights and decreased reps. The focus of this phase is about further development of your muscular strength.

Each phase will have 2-3 key strength workouts per week, with supplemental mobility/stretching days.
